When a franchised Škoda dealer services a car, the visit is written into the manufacturer's central system — the Digital Service Schedule — against the vehicle's 17-character VIN. The entry records the date, the odometer reading, the work carried out and which dealership did it.
That has a useful consequence: the record belongs to the car, not to the owner. It doesn't disappear when the service book goes missing, when the car is sold, or when it crosses a border and gets new plates. Digital coverage is dependable from roughly 2012 onwards and strongest from about 2019.
