Right of Withdrawal
This notice sets out your statutory right to cancel a distance contract under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013, which give effect in Ireland to Directive 2011/83/EU. It applies to consumers. It does not apply to business or trade accounts.
Your right to cancel
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period expires 14 days after the day the contract was concluded.
To exercise the right to cancel you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement — for example a letter sent by post, or an email:
FindServiceHistory
Anglesea House, New Road
Bath, BA2 0HJ
United Kingdom
Email: hello@findservicehistory.com
To meet the cancellation deadline it is enough for you to send your communication concerning the exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed of your decision to cancel. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment you used for the original transaction, and you will not incur any fees as a result.
When the right of withdrawal does not apply
The right to cancel is lost for a service that has been fully performed where you gave your express prior consent to performance beginning during the cancellation period and acknowledged that you would lose your right to cancel once the service had been fully performed.
A service history report is delivered immediately: the lookup runs against the manufacturer's dealer system as soon as payment is confirmed. That is why the checkout asks you to tick a box confirming both points above before you pay. Once you have given that consent and the report has been delivered, the 14-day right no longer applies to that report.
If we find no records
Separately from your statutory rights, we do not charge for a check that returns no service records. Your card is authorised at checkout but not captured; where no records are found the authorisation is cancelled before capture, so no payment is taken. This is a contractual commitment we offer in addition to — not instead of — the rights described above.
Complaints and disputes
If something has gone wrong, contact us first at hello@findservicehistory.com. You may also refer a dispute to the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform, and the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) publishes guidance on consumer rights in Ireland.
