What a Dacia report can look like
Manufacturers don't all keep the same detail, so reports come in four shapes. We've opened the one you're most likely to get. Every entry below is made up; a real report lists the Dacia's own visits.

Dacia and its dealer records
Dacia is Renault's budget-friendly brand, hugely widely sold with models like the Sandero, Duster, and Jogger. Dacia shares Renault's dealership network and digital workshop systems.
How Dacia's digital service record works
Dacia UK uses the Renault Group dealer management system (Dacia and Renault share the same network and back-end). Workshop remarks held against the VIN typically include recall completion, warranty repairs, and service-schedule-aligned activity at franchised UK Dacia / Renault dealers. Coverage is digital from approximately 2013 onwards when Dacia launched (Duster Mk1 came first, then Sandero Mk2). The MyDacia app shows recent services for newer cars; the dealer system holds the complete record. Records persist when a Dacia is serviced at a Renault dealer (and vice versa) because they share the same database.
Where to find your Dacia service history
A car's history is usually spread across a few places, and it is worth checking each one.
- Dacia's dealer system. Every franchised Dacia workshop logs its visits against the car's VIN. A Dacia dealer will usually print them for the owner; anyone else, a buyer included, can use the check on this page.
- The Dacia owner app, where there is one. Newer cars linked to an owner's account may show recent services there, but only to that account holder.
- The paper service book. Stamps from dealers and independent garages alike. If it has been lost, a replacement from the manufacturer arrives blank.
- Independent garage invoices. Work done outside the dealer network only exists on paper, so ask the seller for the folder.
Servicing a Dacia: intervals and models
Dacia service intervals
Dacia runs the same alternating schedule on petrol, diesel and hybrid models: an inspection service (cabin filter and checks) at 1 year or 16,100 km, then a service with the oil and filter change at 2 years or 32,200 km, so oil is a two-year item with an annual inspection in between.
Intervals vary by engine, model year and schedule type — check the car's own handbook or service plan for the figure that applies to it.
Dacia models we cover
Full UK Dacia range is covered: Sandero (Mk1 from 2013, Mk2, Mk3 inc. Sandero Stepway), Duster (Mk1 / HM, Mk2 / HJD), Logan MCV (estate, until 2020), Jogger (J04), Spring (electric — UK launch 2025), Bigster (from 2025). Coverage strongest from 2013 onwards (Dacia's UK launch). Pre-2013 Dacia models were not sold.
Things to watch when buying a used Dacia
Two Dacia-specific things to know: First, Dacia's value proposition relies on relatively basic powertrains shared with Renault — the 0.9 / 1.0 TCe petrol and 1.5 dCi diesel engines are the most common. The 1.5 dCi is belt-driven, so its cambelt change matters (Dacia UK advises one once the car is over 5 years old or 112,700 km), and it has well-known DPF issues in older Renault-badged variants; the same engines in Dacia tune have similar concerns — verifiable oil-service interval discipline is the best mitigation. Second, Dacia warranty is 3 years (extendable to 7 with Dacia 7 Year Extended Care) — servicing at a Dacia or Renault franchised dealer is required to maintain extended warranty eligibility. Third, the older 1.6 16v petrol (K4M) has timing-belt service requirements that are sometimes missed; the later 1.6 SCe is chain-driven.
Why check Dacia service history before buying
Dacia resale value is sensitive to documented dealer history despite the budget-brand positioning — partly because of the 7-year extended warranty programme and partly because of the shared-engine reliability concerns. Workshop-verified service compliance typically adds 8-10% to trade-in over partial-history equivalents. Duster buyers should look for any AWD-related service entries on 4x4 variants. Sandero Stepway and Jogger buyers should verify the timing chain / belt service entries on the 1.0 / 1.5 dCi engines.

FAQ
Common questions about Dacia service history
How do I check Dacia service history online?
Type the car's VIN into the form on this page. We ask Dacia's dealer system for every visit logged against that car and show them in date order, usually within a few minutes. It costs €12.99, and the card is only charged if records come back.
How complete is Dacia coverage?
Dacia sits in our Workshop Remarks tier. Entries come from recall and warranty work rather than routine servicing, so they rarely list what was serviced. Visits that fall about a service interval apart still suggest the car was being looked after at the dealer.
Where is a Dacia's service record kept?
Dacia UK uses the Renault Group dealer management system (Dacia and Renault share the same network and back-end).
What will I see on a Dacia report?
For Dacia, mostly workshop remarks: entries made when a franchised Dacia workshop carried out recall or warranty work, each with its date and odometer reading. Routine services are not itemised, but visits that fall about a service interval apart suggest the car was being looked after at the dealer.
Why might a Dacia with a stamped service book show no records?
Usually because the servicing was done at independent garages, which don't write to Dacia's system, or because it was done before the dealer network kept digital records. A book full of independent stamps can be perfectly genuine; it just has to be backed by the paperwork rather than by the dealer system. If we find nothing, your card isn't charged.
Do I need the owner's permission to check a Dacia?
No. The VIN is all we need: no log-in, no ownership documents and no contact with the seller. That's why people use it before they buy, to compare what the seller says with what Dacia's dealers recorded.
How do I tell whether a Dacia was serviced on time?
Put the dates and readings side by side and look at the spacing. Intervals differ by engine and model year, so the handbook has the exact figure for a given car. A gap much longer than the schedule is worth asking the seller about: it may have been an independent service with an invoice in the folder, or it may have been missed.
Is there a free way to see Dacia service history?
Sometimes, if you are the keeper. A Dacia dealer will often print the history at the service desk if you bring the car's documents, and some Dacia owner apps show recent visits for the car linked to your account. Neither helps a buyer looking at someone else's car, and we know of no public Dacia website that shows the whole record. Our €12.99 check needs only the VIN, and the card is only charged if records are found.
Does Dacia keep digital service records?
Yes. Dacia (part of Renault Group) maintains digital workshop records through the shared Renault dealer system. Our service returns workshop remarks including recalls, warranty work and service-related activities.
What data will I receive for a Dacia?
You receive workshop remarks which may include recall completion, warranty repairs, and activities aligned with service schedules. Sufficient to verify maintained service pattern and warranty compliance.
Are Dacia and Renault records shared?
Yes. Dacia and Renault share the same dealer network and database. A Dacia serviced at a Renault dealer (or vice versa) still flows into the same VIN-keyed record.
What Dacia models are covered?
All UK Dacia models from 2013 onwards are covered, including Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Duster (Mk1 / Mk2), Logan MCV, Jogger, Spring and Bigster. Pre-2013 Dacia was not sold.
Is service history important for Dacia warranty?
Yes. Dacia's 3-year warranty (extendable to 7 with Dacia 7 Year Extended Care) requires servicing at Dacia or Renault franchised dealers within manufacturer intervals. The workshop record is the eligibility proof.
Are 1.5 dCi diesel concerns logged?
Verifiable. The shared Renault 1.5 dCi is belt-driven and has known DPF concerns on older variants. Dealer-record entries for DPF cleaning and the cambelt change are reassuring on high-mileage examples.
How does service history affect Dacia resale?
Dacia resale is sensitive to documented dealer history despite the budget positioning. Workshop-verified service compliance typically adds 8-10% to trade-in over partial-history equivalents — a meaningful percentage of the car's value at the budget end of the market.
How to read a Dacia service history
A list of dealer visits only helps if you know what to look for. Three checks cover most of what goes wrong with a used Dacia's paperwork.
Line the visits up against the schedule
Look at the spacing between visits rather than the number of them. Visits roughly a schedule apart point to a car that was looked after. A long gap is a question for the seller, not a verdict, because the service may well have been done at an independent garage.
Make sure the odometer only goes up
Each visit records the reading on the day. A figure that falls back between one visit and the next is worth questioning before anything else.
Ask about the years the dealer didn't see
Dealer records stop once a car leaves the franchised network. For those years, ask for the invoices from the garage that did the work and check that the dates and readings on them fit with the rest of the history.
