Hyundai tyre pressures

Hyundai Kona tyre pressure

The tyre pressures Hyundai prints in its handbook for each Kona tyre size, by generation — Kona Mk2 (SX2) (2023 on) and Kona Mk1 (OS, incl. Kona Electric and Kona N) (2017–2023). Find your tyre size on the sidewall, then read across.

What the handbooks don't say
  • Only the 2021-2023 facelift petrol handbook was read; pre-facelift (2017-2021) petrol figures assumed but not verified.
  • Kona N (2021-2023) and its 19-inch tyres are not in any handbook read.

Figures marked "Maker's handbook" link to the maker's own document. "Reported" figures are the maker's, read from a copy we could not get from the maker directly. A figure marked ≈ has been converted from the unit the handbook prints. Nothing here has been checked against your car: if it disagrees with the label on the car, the label wins.

Tyre pressure questions

What tyre pressure should a Hyundai Kona have?

It depends on the tyre size and, on some versions, the engine. For the sizes Hyundai lists, the normal-load pressure is 33–36 psi (2.3–2.5 bar) at the front and 33–36 psi (2.3–2.5 bar) at the rear. Find your size in the tables above, and check the tyres cold.

What size tyres does a Hyundai Kona take?

Hyundai fitted the Kona with 205/60 R16, 205/65 R16, 215/55 R17, 215/60 R17, 215/55 R18, 225/45 R18, 235/45 R18 and 235/45 R19, depending on the generation and trim. The size is printed on the side of your tyre; the pressures above are listed by size.

Where is the tyre pressure label on a Hyundai Kona?

On most cars it is on the driver's door pillar or inside the fuel filler flap. It normally gives the same figures as the handbook, which is where the ones on this page come from — if the two ever disagree, go by the label on your car.

When should I use the fully laden pressures?

When the car is carrying a full load — every seat taken, a full boot or a trailer. For everyday driving use the normal figures.
