Land Rover tyre pressures

Land Rover Range Rover Sport tyre pressure

The tyre pressures Land Rover prints in its handbook for each Range Rover Sport tyre size, by generation — Range Rover Sport Mk3 (L461) (2022 on), Range Rover Sport Mk2 (L494) (2013–2022) and Range Rover Sport Mk1 (L320) (2005–2013). Find your tyre size on the sidewall, then read across.

Range Rover Sport Mk3 (L461) (2022 on)

The handbook lists these sizes but prints no pressures for them — use the label on the car.

What the handbooks don't say
  • MY2023-MY2026 handbooks: the handbook says the recommended pressures are on the tyre pressure label (driver's door opening / B-pillar) and prints no pressure table; no tyre sizes are printed. The only figures are SV 'Closed road use: hot tyre pressures' (front 2.5 bar (37 psi, 250 kPa), rear 2.7 bar (40 psi, 270 kPa)) for track driving - not a road pressure, not recorded as a row.

Notes from the handbooks
  • 235/65 R17 108H: Tyre specification lists this size as an 'All terrain tyre' on the 7J x 17 alloy wheel. The handbook's 'Tyre inflation pressures' table applies to every size: front/rear are 'Normal operating conditions'; laden figures are 'Vehicle loaded to maximum gross vehicle weight or (any load condition above 4 occupants)'. Printed as kPa, bar, lbf/in2. Undated edition: row years are the years that engine line-up (4.4 V8, 4.2 SC V8, 2.7 V6 diesel; no V8 diesel) was built - an inference, not a printed date.
  • 235/65 R17 108H: 'Original wheel and tyre combinations' table (7J x 17 wheel); speed rating printed with the size and load index in a separate column (here combined). No pressure is printed - the handbook refers to the tyre information label on the driver's door sill. Undated edition: row years are the years its engine line-up (incl. the 3.6 V8 diesel, before the 2010 facelift) was built - an inference, not a printed date.

What the handbooks don't say
  • 2010-2013 (facelift, 3.0 TDV6/SDV6 and 5.0 V8) handbooks were not found on a JLR host.
  • The 2007-2009 editions print sizes only; pressures are on the door-sill label.

Figures marked "Maker's handbook" link to the maker's own document. "Reported" figures are the maker's, read from a copy we could not get from the maker directly. A figure marked ≈ has been converted from the unit the handbook prints. Nothing here has been checked against your car: if it disagrees with the label on the car, the label wins.

Tyre pressure questions

What tyre pressure should a Land Rover Range Rover Sport have?

It depends on the tyre size and, on some versions, the engine. For the sizes Land Rover lists, the normal-load pressure is 34–44 psi (2.3–3.0 bar) at the front and 36–50 psi (2.5–3.4 bar) at the rear. Find your size in the tables above, and check the tyres cold.

What size tyres does a Land Rover Range Rover Sport take?

Land Rover fitted the Range Rover Sport with 235/65 R17, 255/55 R18, 235/65 R19, 255/50 R19, 255/55 R20, 275/40 R20, 275/45 R21 and 275/40 R22, depending on the generation and trim. The size is printed on the side of your tyre; the pressures above are listed by size.

Where is the tyre pressure label on a Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

On most cars it is on the driver's door pillar or inside the fuel filler flap. It normally gives the same figures as the handbook, which is where the ones on this page come from — if the two ever disagree, go by the label on your car.

When should I use the fully laden pressures?

When the car is carrying a full load — every seat taken, a full boot or a trailer. For everyday driving use the normal figures.
