Mazda tyre pressures

Mazda Mazda3 tyre pressure

The tyre pressures Mazda prints in its handbook for each Mazda3 tyre size, by generation — Mazda3 (BP) (2018 on), Mazda3 (BM/BN) (2013–2019) and Mazda3 (BL) (2008–2013). Find your tyre size on the sidewall, then read across.

Notes from the handbooks
  • 205/60R16 92V: The handbook gives several pressure sets for this size, labelled Type A/B/C...; Type A is the set marked on the vehicle's tyre pressure label (driver's door frame). Check the label to see which Type your car is. Mazda prints this as 'Up to 3 persons' (front/rear) and 'Full load' (frontLaden/rearLaden); 1 person = about 75 kg. Winter (M+S) tyres of this size use different (higher rear) pressures printed separately in the handbook.

What the handbooks don't say
  • Editions after model year 2020 not read. The model-year 2018, 2019 and 2020 European editions agree.

What the handbooks don't say
  • Pre-facelift editions (2013-2014) not read; figures are from the model-year 2015 and 2017 European editions, which agree.

Mazda3 (BL) (2008–2013)

The handbook lists these sizes but prints no pressures for them — use the label on the car.

What the handbooks don't say
  • No BL Mazda3 handbook found on Mazda's manual host. Sizes and pressures not recorded.

Figures marked "Maker's handbook" link to the maker's own document. "Reported" figures are the maker's, read from a copy we could not get from the maker directly. A figure marked ≈ has been converted from the unit the handbook prints. Nothing here has been checked against your car: if it disagrees with the label on the car, the label wins.

Tyre pressure questions

What tyre pressure should a Mazda Mazda3 have?

It depends on the tyre size and, on some versions, the engine. For the sizes Mazda lists, the normal-load pressure is 35–38 psi (2.4–2.6 bar) at the front and 33–36 psi (2.3–2.5 bar) at the rear. Find your size in the tables above, and check the tyres cold.

What size tyres does a Mazda Mazda3 take?

Mazda fitted the Mazda3 with 205/60 R16 and 215/45 R18, depending on the generation and trim. The size is printed on the side of your tyre; the pressures above are listed by size.

Where is the tyre pressure label on a Mazda Mazda3?

On most cars it is on the driver's door pillar or inside the fuel filler flap. It normally gives the same figures as the handbook, which is where the ones on this page come from — if the two ever disagree, go by the label on your car.

When should I use the fully laden pressures?

When the car is carrying a full load — every seat taken, a full boot or a trailer. For everyday driving use the normal figures.
