Mazda tyre pressures

Mazda CX-5 tyre pressure

The tyre pressures Mazda prints in its handbook for each CX-5 tyre size, by generation — CX-5 (KF, second generation) (2017–2026) and CX-5 (KE, first generation) (2011–2017). Find your tyre size on the sidewall, then read across.

Notes from the handbooks
  • 225/65R17 102H: Mazda prints this as 'Up to 3 persons' (front/rear) and 'Full load' (frontLaden/rearLaden); 1 person = about 75 kg. Left-hand drive models print the same size as 225/65R17 102V with the same pressures. Winter (M+S) tyres of this size use different (higher rear) pressures printed separately in the handbook.
  • 225/65R17 102V: Printed for left-hand drive models in the 2017-revision and 2018 editions; the first 2017 edition (cx-5_8ft1ee17b) prints only this 102V size with no right/left-hand split. Same pressures as the 102H size.
  • 225/55R19 99V: Mazda prints this as 'Up to 3 persons' (front/rear) and 'Full load' (frontLaden/rearLaden); 1 person = about 75 kg. Winter (M+S) tyres of this size use different (higher rear) pressures printed separately in the handbook.
What the handbooks don't say
  • Later KF editions (2020 onward, incl. 2.5T and 2022 facelift) not read — European edition codes not found. Figures above are from the 2017-2018 European editions.

CX-5 (KE, first generation) (2011–2017)

The handbook lists these sizes but prints no pressures for them — use the label on the car.

What the handbooks don't say
  • No European-market edition of the KE CX-5 handbook found on owners-manual.mazda.com (only an Australian 2015 edition, cx-5_8dw2eo14k, which is not used here). Sizes and pressures not recorded.

Figures marked "Maker's handbook" link to the maker's own document. "Reported" figures are the maker's, read from a copy we could not get from the maker directly. A figure marked ≈ has been converted from the unit the handbook prints. Nothing here has been checked against your car: if it disagrees with the label on the car, the label wins.

Tyre pressure questions

What tyre pressure should a Mazda CX-5 have?

It depends on the tyre size and, on some versions, the engine. For the sizes Mazda lists, the normal-load pressure is 33–36 psi (2.3–2.5 bar) at the front and 33–36 psi (2.3–2.5 bar) at the rear. Find your size in the tables above, and check the tyres cold.

What size tyres does a Mazda CX-5 take?

Mazda fitted the CX-5 with 225/65 R17 and 225/55 R19, depending on the generation and trim. The size is printed on the side of your tyre; the pressures above are listed by size.

Where is the tyre pressure label on a Mazda CX-5?

On most cars it is on the driver's door pillar or inside the fuel filler flap. It normally gives the same figures as the handbook, which is where the ones on this page come from — if the two ever disagree, go by the label on your car.

When should I use the fully laden pressures?

When the car is carrying a full load — every seat taken, a full boot or a trailer. For everyday driving use the normal figures.
