What the handbooks don't say
- Three editions were read and they print different tables, so each is listed with its edition in appliesTo (rows without an edition label are from the 2018-era manual, variant 6928): the launch and 2018-era editions split pressures by engine; the facelift edition (variant 7136/8016, in force either side of 15-08-2021) splits them by load and speed index and prints, for example, 235/45R18 98XL W at 2.5 (36)/2.2 (32) where the earlier tables give 2.2 (32)/2.2 (32) for the 1.5L EcoBoost. Build-date ranges were not printed for the earlier two.

What the handbooks don't say
- No Mondeo Mk4 handbook was found: Ford's online owner-manual system has no Mondeo Mk4 manual for the GB market (only a Mondeo Quick Reference Guide, variant 3524, with no tyre table), and ford.co.uk returned "No data for this vehicle". No sizes or pressures recorded.
Figures marked "Maker's handbook" link to the maker's own document. "Reported" figures are the maker's, read from a copy we could not get from the maker directly. A figure marked ≈ has been converted from the unit the handbook prints. Nothing here has been checked against your car: if it disagrees with the label on the car, the label wins.

What tyre pressure should a Ford Mondeo have?
It depends on the tyre size and, on some versions, the engine. For the sizes Ford lists, the normal-load pressure is 32–38 psi (2.2–2.6 bar) at the front and 32–35 psi (2.2–2.4 bar) at the rear. Find your size in the tables above, and check the tyres cold.
What size tyres does a Ford Mondeo take?
Ford fitted the Mondeo with 215/60 R16, 215/55 R17, 235/50 R17, 235/45 R18 and 235/40 R19, depending on the generation and trim. The size is printed on the side of your tyre; the pressures above are listed by size.
Where is the tyre pressure label on a Ford Mondeo?
On most cars it is on the driver's door pillar or inside the fuel filler flap. It normally gives the same figures as the handbook, which is where the ones on this page come from — if the two ever disagree, go by the label on your car.
When should I use the fully laden pressures?
When the car is carrying a full load — every seat taken, a full boot or a trailer. For everyday driving use the normal figures.
