- Four editions were read and they disagree on some sizes (e.g. 255/70 R16 111T: 2.1 (30) front and rear in the 2.2/3.2 TDCi edition and in variant 7786, 2.4 (35) in variant 6709), so each is listed with its edition in appliesTo. Only the first carries build dates.
- The handbook notes that ECO pressures do not apply to all diesel vehicles and refers to the tyre decal; ECO figures are in the notes only.
- No temporary spare table is printed on the pages read.
Figures marked "Maker's handbook" link to the maker's own document. "Reported" figures are the maker's, read from a copy we could not get from the maker directly. What tyre pressure should a Ford Ranger have?
It depends on the tyre size and, on some versions, the engine. For the sizes Ford lists, the normal-load pressure is 30–36 psi (2.1–2.5 bar) at the front and 30–36 psi (2.1–2.5 bar) at the rear. Find your size in the tables above, and check the tyres cold.
What size tyres does a Ford Ranger take?
Ford fitted the Ranger with 215/70 R16, 255/70 R16, 255/65 R17, 255/70 R17, 265/65 R17, 265/70 R17, 285/70 R17 and 255/65 R18, among others, depending on the generation and trim. The size is printed on the side of your tyre; the pressures above are listed by size.
Where is the tyre pressure label on a Ford Ranger?
On most cars it is on the driver's door pillar or inside the fuel filler flap. It normally gives the same figures as the handbook, which is where the ones on this page come from — if the two ever disagree, go by the label on your car.
When should I use the fully laden pressures?
When the car is carrying a full load — every seat taken, a full boot or a trailer. For everyday driving use the normal figures.
